The entry requirements for the NEBDN Certificate in Radiography typically include:
- To be a registered dental nurse with the General Dental Council (GDC) or Irish Dental Council (IDC)
- To have a supportive employer to supervise the completion of the Electronic Record of Competence (eRoC)
- To have a valid First Aid / Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate of Completion
- Be competent in written and spoken English in order to be able to communicate effectively with patients, their families and dental and healthcare professionals
The lessons are delivered virtually via live zoom classes once-a-month. Additional supporting materials will be available on our virtual learning environment (eTrain). These include lecture slides, past video lessons, suggested reading materials and other key resources.
Successful completion of a work-based Record of Competence (RoC) is a programme requirement. The RoC consists of three sections: Practical Competence Assessment Sheets (PCAS), case studies and supplementary outcomes
The assessment comprises a 90-minute written examination with two sections:
Part A – 45 multiple-choice questions (MCQ)
Part B – 30 extended matching questions (EMQ)
Examinations are conducted biannually in March and September.
